Here's a culmination of frequently asked questions!
What are your faux locs made of?
- I specialize in synthetic locs! Synthetic fiber is made to mimic real hair. However it acts as a pliable plastic that bonds & meshes together when placed under wet heat.
How do I install them?
- They're installed by parting your hair into even box shaped or triangle sections & braiding them in, securing with elastics.
Can I install them myself?
- If you're experinced with basic braiding techniques go ahead! If not, it's encouraged to find a friend, local loctician, or hair dresser which will charge various fees depending on location. I also do installations for PA based clients & will travel for an additional fee.
What can I expect for the first time?
- Because of how synthetic fibers behave, almost like plastic, you may experience some itching at first . Itching can also occur due to your hair follicles & scalp forming tension bumps. You may also experience headache from it feeling "heavy", it adds about 1kg of weight. Most of these minor discomforts should subside within the week.
Your locs may also feel "stiff". They will relax over time with wear & washing. However a solid stiff loc is an indicator of good quality, made with proper sealing & setting techniques.
Can I wash my hair?
Yes! You may refer to the faux loc care guide for more info.
❌ It's not recommended for anyone with chronic headaches, neck issues, scalp sensitivities etc to wear synthetic locs. This could increase your existing symptoms ! ❌
